The highly anticipated “Darna: The TV Series” is slated to begin production in November, and lead actress Jane de Leon is filled with emotions as she prepares for her part as the legendary Filipino superheroine. “Kinikilig ako na excited na kinakabahan sa totoo lang. Iba pa rin ang pakiramdam kapag malapit na kasi malapit na talaga kaming magsimula,” enthused Jane in an exclusive TV Patrol report.
The Kapamilya actress discussed how she prepared for the part by exercising and dieting, as well as how she felt when she tried on the superhero outfit. “Actually nakapagfit na ako ng costume. Naiyak ako, ‘yung feeling na nilalagay na sa akin ‘yung headdress. Nagpapasalamat ako kay Lord na matutuloy na,” she said.
Jane conveyed her sentiments with the observance of Darna founder Mars Ravelo’s 115th birth anniversary on October 9 as pre-production work for “Darna” continues. “Gusto kong pasalamatan ang Ravelo family sa ‘di matatawarang legacy na paglikha sa superhero natin na si Darna at sa pagtitiwala sa akin na ibigay ang bato. Maraming salamat po,” Jane added.
According to the TV Patrol report, the series’ director will be named next week.
