Xian Lim on being a filmmaker: “Hindi rito nagtatapos ang laban”

“In terms of career hindi ko muna masyadong iniisip. It’s more of me being able to express my own ideas, mga stories na gusto ko i-kwento,” declared actor Xian Lim on directing his first full-length film “Tabon,” an entry to Cinemalaya 2019.

“I’m considering what a great opportunity na nabibigay ng Cinemalaya sa aming lahat,” he told Talk Posh during the recent Cinemalaya grand presscon at the Cultural Center of the Philippines, Pasay City.

When he was asked if he would still continue making films, Xian replied: “Yes! Definitely! Hindi rito nagtatapos ang laban. Grabe ang saya ko! Hindi ko ma-explain. It’s just an overwhelming type of joy becoming a filmmaker,” he added.

“Tabon,” a story of a man’s belief in reality that is tested when suspects are accused of a crime they believe to not have committed, is under the production of XL8. It features cast members Christopher Roxas, Ynna Asistio, Dexter Doria, Bapbap Reyes, Menggie Cobarrubias, Leon Miguel, Benjie Felipe, Lao Rodriguez and Richard Manabat

Catch “Tabon” at the 15th Cinemalaya from Aug. 2 to 11 at the CCP and in selected cinemas nationwide. The wide commercial theatrical run is from Aug. 7 to 13. ( Report by Daisy Liezel Cuison )
