“Masaya po,” said 15-year-old Jansen Magpusao when asked how it felt like to bag the best actor trophy at the recently concluded 2019 Cinemalaya Philippine Independent Film Festival awards show.
Jansen plays the lead role in the Arden Rod Condez drama “John Denver Trending,” with Meryll Soriano playing her mother.
Jansen is a Grade 9 student in Pandan, Antique. When TalkPosh asked to whom he was thankful for, Jansen replied: “Kay Direk po. Dahil sa kanya nakilala ako at siya po nagbigay sa akin ng opportunity.”
John Denver Trending is a story of a farmboy’s life that is suddenly upended when a video of him brutally attacking a classmate went viral.
Jansen said he also hoped to meet actor Coco Martin to be part of the top-rating series “FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano.” (Report by Daisy Liezel Cuison)
