Kathryn in “Hello, Love, Goodbye:” Working on this movie almost drove me crazy

“She can’t be happy” said director Cathy Garcia-Molina of Kathryn Bernardo, whose character is ironically named Joy, in their latest film, “Hello, Love, Goodbye.”

“Your emotion has to be real. You have to know ano ang pain ng OFW at ano ang suffering, until you do that you, cannot be Joy,” said Cathy, as she retold her conversation with Kathryn to reporters during a recent media gathering to promote the movie, which will be screened in cinemas starting July 31.

“Hello, Love, Goodbye” centers on the love story between Joy (Bernardo) and Ethan (Alden Richards), Filipino workers based in Hong Kong. Ethan, a bartender, is keen on romantically pursuing Joy, a domestic helper, who is wholly dedicated to providing for her family.

Written by Carmi Raymundo, “Hello, Love, Goodbye” cast members include Maymay Entrata, Joross Gamboa, Jameson Blake, Jeffrey Tan, Lovely Abella and Cacai Bautista.
