“It will be not just about this film industry but the entire Philippines supporting our local films,” said FDCP chairperson Liza Diño who urged Filipinos to support local films.
“It’s not easy gumawa ng pelikula lalo na sa ganitong panahon na madami nang platforms para mag-consume ng films. But PPP is advocating the audience to watch in the cinemas,” Dino said at the Pista ng Pelikulang PIlipino (PPP) awards show at the One Esplanade in Pasay City.
“Kaya sana po tulungan n’yo kami. Hindi lang po ito FDCP project or project ng ng mga government agencies na tumutulong sa’min. Project ito ng lahat ng pelikulang kalahok dito. Ito po ay para sa ating lahat. Kaya I urge the public, our Filipino audiences, suportahan n’yo po ang Pelikulang Pilipino,” added Dino during the ceremony titled “Gabi ng Parangal, Pagkilala, Pasasalamat.”
The PPP’s third year, held from September 13 to 19, marked the official celebration of the 100 years of Philippine Cinema. PPP is a week-long celebration that exclusively screens quality Filipino films of different genres in all theaters nationwide.
The recently concluded event was organized by the FDCP in partnership with the National Cinema Association of the Philippines.
