“I’m very proud of him,” declared Bamboo Mañalac of JK Labajo, whom he mentored during the first season of the reality talent search program “The Voice Kids Philippines.”
Labajo, although he only ranked third in the contest, has become a chart-topping OPM artist, with the soulful alternative rock tune “Buwan” being his most popular one.
“He has beautiful songs,” his former mentor beamed as he spoke with reporters during a recent set visit.
“The Voice Kids,” which airs on ABS-CBN, is based on the Dutch reality singing competition of the same name. It is returning for a 4th season with coaches Bamboo, Lea Salonga, and Sarah Geronimo. This season’s presenters are Toni Gonzaga and Robi Domingo.
